24 February 2024

A reminder that Sheila Martin will be coming in on Monday 26th February and will be with us for four weeks. We have received the following details from Sheila: There are a few pieces (check out the images) that Sheila would like to show everyone in the class. Sheila will bring photos of her work and everyone can bring photos/pictures of trees, flowers, beach scene or boats. Each piece will be individual to the artist creating it. Sheila uses a lot of masking fluid and tape in acrylic or watercolours and then Pebeo tubes of glitter and metallic. So the four sessions will be: Wk1: Drawing and masking fluid and preparation flowers or trees - You can bring a photo of your choice - flowers, trees, beach scene or boats. Wk 2: Painting, taking off tape and masking fluid - you must not wait too long to take the masking fluid off Wk 3: Use of anow gutter Pebeo & Eid gold leaf Wk 4: Decoupage picture of choice using real leaves or pressed flowers. This is a brief outline of what Sheila will use. Sheila has asked that you bring along what you can get hold of. But don't stress too much if you can't find some items. We will manage with whatever we can find. Masking tape 1inch and 1/2 inch Masque pen(quite difficult to find so Helen has ordered 8x 5ml squeezy bottles to use as masking Fluid dispensers.) Small scissors watercolour paints Bockingford w/c 350gms rough paper (or similar.) Assorted Brushes Assorted Acrylic paint Coloured mountboard(A4 or larger) Gold and silver leaf acrylic paint(only if you have any) crackle paste (Helen has ordered a small tub of this, but please bring your own if you have it) Irredescent paint Pebeo gutter tube and colour Decoupage items; Mountboard real leaves and flowers Glue Beads and jewels Spray varnish Acrylic paints. Helen has managed to source some items on the list - she has been unable to source the masque pens and the pebeo tubes of glitter, but has ordered a small tub of crackle paste and 8x 5ml squeezy bottles to use instead of the masque pens. I think everyone will have to share and mix and match our own supplies. So, please just as Sheila has asked, just bring along what you can. Any questions, please just ask.

 Good evening everyone,

Unfortunately due to illness the demonstration is still postponed.

The same as last week, we will still be meeting in Foakes Hall between 1pm and 3pm, so please bring along your own work.

Many Thanks
