This time next month, Dunmow Art Group will be bringing their popular Spring Exhibition to Dunmow. It will be held in Foakes Hall in Great Dunmow from the 15th to the 16th March 2025. Doors open at 10am and close at 4pm. There will be refreshments available to buy, a raffle and several artists will be at the show to answer any questions you may have as you enjoy their work. A reminder that there is no class on Monday 17th February and Jordan Cook will be back with us for his 3rd week on Monday 24th February However, in the meantime, come along on Wednesday evening and join Lucia Hardy: Sky Landscape Artist of the Year Wildcard Winner to give demonstration to Dunmow Art Group members Dunmow Art Group is excited to host a demonstration by acclaimed artist Lucia Hardy in February. Lucia will be giving a talk and demonstration at the Talberd Room, Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow, on Wednesday 19th February from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Lucia Hardy is an artist based in Harold Wood, painting expressive and dynamic birds, wildlife and wild British landscapes in acrylics. She paints outdoors (en plein air) and in her garden studio. Her paintings are vibrant, emotive and bring a sense of connection - always inspired by nature’s strength and resilience. Her process involves a layered approach including research, sketching and exploring ideas. When painting she works instinctively and enjoys discovering what will appear. She has exhibited at the Oxo Tower and Truman Brewery with Roy’s Art Fair. In 2023, Lucia also featured on Sky Art’s ‘Sky Landscape Artist of the Year’ TV programme when she was the heat Wildcard winner at Royal Ascot’s picnic area. The painting demonstration costs £1 for members of Dunmow Art Group and £5 for non-members. Dunmow Art Group has a long history of supporting artists and art lovers in Dunmow and the surrounding area and has a regular programme of weekly art meetings and monthly visiting artists. Week 3 with Tracey Ingram

Week 3 was working on more detail of the animals chosen. There are many foxes being worked on, mzny of which are using the same photo on which to base their painting.   It's interesting to see how subtle changes to the eyes give different messages  - fear, curiosity and anger to name a few. It will be the final week with Tracey next week, let's see how those animals turn out.

As always,  people are welcome to bring their own things to work on, which a couple of members did.  I'll let you guess which works those are.
