🎨🎨 Today we learnt how to create loose florals, how to use a variety of brushes to create different leaf shapes and marry the two techniques together. Thank you, as always, to Mandy Whittick for another very therapeutic session! 🎨🎨 Enjoy the gallery! #dunmow #dunmowartgroup #watercolours #arttherapy
Just over 5 weeks until our Open Studios! (27 -30 June) Today, enjoy the spotlight on Audrey Bowling (Studio ‘F’) "I am a mixed-media artist working with an emphasis on collage. The shapes & colours of the landscape provide inspiration, alongside the materials & found objects I use. This inspiration leads in many directions, including abstract, seeing things from a different perspective, & bringing other sensations into play. I’m also fascinated by found objects, especially those rusty washers, keys, bits of wire, etc discarded by society. I use them in my work to give balance & texture, whilst giving them a life beyond their original purpose. Alongside this, there will be examples of my weaving." It is good to be challenged…and we are always open to try something new; today was no exception! Learning to use acrylic as if it were oils was certainly very challenging! Fabienne taught us how to blend gradually as acrylics dry so quickly…a skill that will take a little practise! This gallery shows our work in progress.
