Today we were unexpectedly treated to the opportunity to try Encaustic Art courtesy of Debbie. Fascinating techniques with some great results! We also worked on our own projects so today’s gallery is a real mixture! Thank you Debbie - it was great to try something new! #encausticwax #dunmow #dunmowartgroup #encausticartist

UPDATE: this demonstration has been postponed due to illness; however, we will still be meeting in Foakes Hall between 1 pm and 3 pm. At Monday's class we will be experimenting and going totally abstract. Please bring the following: -Acrylic paint, water pot, board and a selection of brushes. -Decent thick watercolour paper at least A4 size, masking tape. -Anything you can make interesting marks with such as bubble wrap, loo roll holder, pieces of card, stencils, palette knives, old credit card, leaves, a bit of collage. -A fine liner pen and a few pastels. - You can also bring DIY paint tester pots. You're more than welcome to do your own work as this may not be for everyone. The idea is to experiment to see what can be achieved with different materials. It should be fun. Please remember to bring your own mugs.

Dunmow Art Group in Foakes Hall - Monday 22nd January 2024
Audrey will be running a session on abstract landscape in acrylics on Monday the 22nd January 2024. Please see the message from Audrey regarding the materials required below:
Materials required:
Acrylic paint - any colours, but I suggest at least 2 primary colours plus a black and a white.
Brushes - medium and small at a minimum, but any will do
Pencil
Thickish paper about 140lb any size. I suggest 2-3 sheets of A4.
Palette and water pot
Optional:
Board/mat and masking tape to give you clean edges.
As usual, there will be items you can borrow if needed, don't feel you need to rush out and buy things.
As always if you don't fancy this, you are welcome to bring your own project to work on.
Please remember to bring your own mug - thank you :)
