Return of Classes

Dunmow Art
Group (DAG) is pleased to announce a new programme of activity. Like many other
organisations, the group has been unable to meet for much of the last 18 months.
This, combined with a big change of committee in 2019, means that the programme
for the last 2 years has been much reduced. With restrictions eased and some
renewed enthusiasm, an autumn programme of talks and demonstrations has been
arranged on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 8pm in the Talberd
Room at Foakes Hall. The new season will start with an AGM and small social
evening on 15 September with an opportunity for members to share some of the
artwork they have been doing during the enforced break and a small bring and
buy. It will continue as below:
On 20
October there will be a talk on Framing and mounting your artwork by Pauline
Hazelwood
On 17
November Paul Alcock will give a demonstration of oils - Essex and the Thames
Estuary
The classes/painting
and drawing sessions on a Monday afternoon from 1pm - 3pm during term time will
continue. These will start on 6 September with a meadow watercolour.
There will
be the occasional Tuesday afternoon workshop from 2-4pm, the first of which
will be on 23 November a workshop on collage by Ailsa Lyn
New members and visitors interested in fine art are always welcome whatever their level.

2021 Outdoor Painting Session 1
A sample of artwork by Sydney Smith from last week's outdoor painting session at Brockholds Farm. With thanks to Simon Whitehead for allowing this and Jeanie Wiseman for organising. May the weather be kind and allow more of these sessions.

Classes Return
For the first few weeks the session on Mondays, from 1pm-3pm, will be on a 'let's paint together' basis. There won't be a teacher, but it will be a chance for people to come together and paint after such a long absence.
These painting sessions will be free for members of the Dunmow Art Group and £5 for non-members. We can only have a maximum of 20 people in the Talberd Room, so it will be on a first come first serve basis.
We will also have plenty of ventilation, with windows and doors open, so please be mindful that it might be a bit chilly. You will also need to bring your own refreshments as we won't be able to use the kitchen, and you'll need to bring your own water for painting, if you need it.
Hope to see you on Monday!
