Life Drawing with Julie Arnall

This Wednesday evening, the 16th, Dunmow Art Group is extremely fortunate in being able to host a life-drawing workshop run by professional artist, Julie Arnall, @juliearnall22.

Julie has a Masters degree in Fine Art: Print from Wimbledon College of Art, and has taught for over twenty years including at the University of the Arts, London and Kingston University. She currently teaches drawing and printmaking to adults in East Hertfordshire and online.

In addition to her impressive work in intaglio print processes of drypoint and monoprint, she uses the more direct approach of drawing to create an image, where the human figure provides a constant source of inspiration, as a symbol of both self-expression and awareness.

The workshop will run from 8-10 p.m. at Foakes Hall, Great Dunmow. Julie will be bringing a female model and spend the first 20 minutes or so demonstrating how to get the basics of the figure onto paper, measuring, proportions, etc. The group can then draw from a standing pose and Julie will come round and give one to one tuition.
After a coffee break, she will set up a seated/lying pose and talk about foreshortening, before the group have period of drawing time.

This session is for members only but gives an idea of some of the wide variety of artistic events on offer through the group. New members are always welcome. Please enquire for details.
